On March 25th, the Gillespie Bass Club made the long haul to Newton lake for their second tournament of the season. Results are as follows:
1st, JQ Halteman, 3 fish, 11.07 lbs.
2nd, Glenn Fulton, 2 fish, 8.59 lbs.
3rd, Matt Stieren, 2 fish, 8.34 lbs.
Big Bass, Don Bloemker, 5.04 lbs.
25 fisherman with 16 weighing in 25 fish for a total weight of 103.88 lbs.

It’s been awhile, but I think you will all be pleased with the Gillespie Bass Club shirts. As most of you know we took orders for shirts last season so if you put your name down, you will be receiving one. The shirts are you standard fishing shirt. Khaki in color, pocketed with a collar and with a flap in the back for those hot days on the water. The “Vinyl Guy” from Girard is who did business with us and gave us a pretty good deal. He took the Bass logo from our club hats and placed it on the front of the shirt along with our club name. The shirts are not personalized so if you would like your name on it, you can get this done at most embroidery places. That being said,…since they are not personalized, we might have some extras for those of you who didn’t place an order last season. Shirts are going for $29 dollars a piece. Not much more than you would pay if you were to buy them plain from Bass Pro. Next meeting they will be available. Thanks goes out to JQ Halteman for all the gas and time he had to deal with in getting these shirts for us.
Just a reminder for those of you that haven’t paid your yearly dues. You have up until the clubs April meeting to pay your $30 dollars. If you are not paid by this time, you will unfortunately be dropped from the membership. Also…dont forget…March 25th…Newton Tournament! Plenty of time to get in!
On March 12th, the Gillespie Bass Club headed to Coffeen Lake for their first tournament of the season. Results are as follows:
1st Place, Robert Hartley, 3 fish, 11.70 lbs.
2nd Place, David Blevins, 3 fish, 10.24 lbs.
3rd Place, Brad Fulton, 3 fish, 9.80 lbs.
Big Bass, Robert Hartley, 5.32 lbs.
28 fisherman, 24 weighed in 50 fish for a total weight of 130.08 lbs.
