Gillespie Bass Club

On July 30th, the Gillespie Bass Club headed to Carlyle lake to compete in their 11th tournament of the season. The lake on the drop and the down right HOT temperatures, made for an interesting day of fishing. As always, someone will find fish. The results and winners are as follows:

1st, Greg Eccher, 2 fish, 5.62 lbs.
2nd, Ken Wise, 2 fish, 5.40 lbs.
3rd, Matt Stieren, 2 fish, 4.57 lbs.
Big Bass, Greg Eccher, 3.49 lbs.

22 anglers with 10 weighing in 15 fish for total weight of 36.64 lbs.

On July 16th, the Gillespie Bass Club held their 10th tournament of the season. Destination was a well known fishery known as Otter. With the temperatures in the high 90’s and the blazing sun overhead, it made for some miserable weather. The fishing on the other hand was very good. The winners are as follows:

1st, Marty Derganc, 3 fish, 9.69 lbs.
2nd, Lonnie Gerdes, 3 fish, 8.48 lbs.
3rd, Bob Masierro, 3 fish, 8.44 lbs.
Big Bass, Glenn Fulton, 5.01 lbs.

Received a an update on Otter lake today stating that the water level at the ramp is low. Use caution when putting in. A fellow club member dragged his motor when puttting it on the trailor today.

On July 2, the Gillespie Bass Club headed to Hillsboro Lake to compete in their 9th scheduled tournament of the season. The 4th of July weekend winners are as follows:

1st, Marty Derganc, 3 fish, 10.73 lbs.
2nd, Shawn Hemken, 2 fish, 7.00 lbs.
3rd, Chad Satterlee, 3 fish, 6.86 lbs.
Big Bass, Shawn Hemken, 4.92 lbs.
