Gillespie Bass Club

Next meeting is Monday, July 2nd. We will be drawing for two tournaments. The Ohio River two-day and Carlyle.

On June 24th, 2007, the Gillespie Bass Club held their 6th tournament of the season on Litchfield Lake. Overcast skies for most of the day made the fishing very enjoyable until the rains came. Now if only the fish would have cooperated. As always though, someone always finds fish. The results are as follows:

1st, Mike Grejtak, 3 fish, 6.41 lbs.
2nd, Matt Stiere, 3 fish, 6.18 lbs.
3rd, Greg Satterlee, 2 fish, 5.62 lbs.
Big Bass, Bob Wyatt, 4.73 lbs.

27 anglers participated with 13 weighing in 21 fish for a total weight of 50.74 lbs.

One June 3, 2007, the Gillespie Bass Club held their 5th tournament of the season on well known Jacksonville Lake. Great weather and great fishing made the day very enjoyable. The annoying black fly problem the lake previously was affected by was no longer a problem. The results are as follows:

1st, Marty Derganc, 4 fish, 16.04 lbs.
2nd, Gus Viehweg, 4 fish, 13.81 lbs.
3rd, Terry Cordum, 4 fish, 13.32 lbs.
Big Bass, Ken Wise, 5.85 lbs.

29 anglers participated with 25 weighing in 59 fish for a total weight of 172.46 lbs.
Note:Jacksonville is a 5 fish limit. The club opted to go with a 4 fish limit to make it easier on the fish in the livewell.
